Experience
For three years, I have taught ESL at home and abroad. My former teaching positions range from teaching college students at Loyola University, to teaching children in Nepal. I even had the pleasure of teaching an adult intermediate class at World Relief Chicago. Teaching ESL is one of my greatest joys! Second only to teaching, I also love tutoring English! I have tutored students from across the globe--from young adults on Chicago's North Side to students in Thaiba, Nepal. Additionally, I had the wonderful opportunity to tutor English for elementary students on Chicago's South Side. Lastly, I led a summer tutoring course on ACT/SAT English for high school juniors. I love tutoring because I love people! Tutoring allows me to connect and build relationships, while offering a tangible response to a need. Likewise, I love English! So, in tutoring I get to combine my two loves--English and meeting new people. When tutoring, I am able to give people the gift of understanding. Whether my student is learning to communicate in a new language or working hard to excel on the next exam, I always feel so honored to be a part of his or her learning process.

Hobbies
If I have any free time, you can probably find me curled up with a book or cuddling with my cat, Sebastian. Although I'm by no means a pro, I enjoy watercoloring and yoga to give my mind a break. On free weekends or around the holidays, I spend time in the kitchen, baking up new and delicious treats to force on my husband. (He hasn't started complaining, yet!) A lifelong pastime, I enjoy writing creative non-fiction and editing my brother's stories. I'm a fan of autumn colors, winter sweaters, and seeing how many cookies I can eat in a single sitting.
