Experience
Recently, I managed the School Age Program at a Children's Courtyard in Southlake, Texas for grades K through 5th. I have taught Mad Science TAKS (standardized testing) workshops and after school programs for five years for students ages. I have also ran my own Mad Science Summer camps for elementary students with topics ranging from chemistry, earth science, animal science and space. I believe the best way to learn is to have fun and as a result I enjoy creating fun experiments such as slime cups, rocket launches, etc to help comprehend topics. My classes focusing on Child Development in American Society at the University of Texas at Austin provided me excellent experience in teaching and relating with with youth of various backgrounds. I also teach a youth fitness and exercise "Teen Tone" class as well as a "Silver Sneakers" strength class at the Coppell YMCA. I highly believe in the importance of proper nutrition and fitness for over all well being and enjoy helping people reach their fitness/ nutritional goals. As an Honor student at the University of Texas at Austin, I realize the challenges students face in creating time-efficient study skills and balancing a hard work load.
